Posted as a reply to: Msg 64 by hdjs4 maybe Posted as a reply to: Msg 63 by hdjs4 i'm interested If I say I believe in Jesus as a tremendously inspired and inspiratinal teacher, a messenger of God, but no more holy than you or me, does it make y ou angry? Afraid (for me or for you) What if I tell you that Jesus did not die for our sins, because there is no such thing as sin. My favorite definition is Self Inflicted Nonsense, am I evil? And there is no need to repent or seek Jesus as a savior because God forgives all our errors, no begging and no middle man needed. And what if I were to tell you that there is no devil and there is no hell? May i ask if you are acquainted with the real history of the world 2000 years ago? Do you read Hebrew or Aramaic? If you call my beliefs "feel good pop self esteem boosting mish-mash" may I asign a tag to yours? Good living. Please answer, and send your questions to me. Posted as a reply to: Msg 56 by hdjs4 so indeed... the sins of the father are revisited uponthe son, and the son, and the son, and the son.................. I do not think the Romans, or Herod, had a mind anything like mine. It would appear that for 200 years the christian church has been working very hard to "crush, kill and abolish" anything that was different. Did you know that tens of millions of people were brutally killed in the name of the church in the 5-600 years that christianlty and paternalism marched across Europe? I am not trying to be sassy or defiant, its a fact, like the holocaust, look it up. And the majority of these people were women, burned at the stake as witches because they were slow to come around to this vengeful punishing father figure. Thank God this behavior is no longer the norm in most of the Christian world. Butit was. Go to the library, go to the university, find a historian, look itup. If I have the same mind as the Romans who nailed Jesus up, then it is only logical to conclude that you have the same mind as these medieval christians. Seems we are both pretty nasty. Do not judge me and I will not judge you. Posted as a reply to: Msg 65 by jesjka preview Of course, history proves that Jesus was born in midsummer about 6 years before. Posted as a reply to: Msg 65 by jesjka I have no doubt that you're a nice guy. Posted as a reply to: Msg 63 by hdjs4 right! Posted as a reply to: Msg 71 by avatarmundi Jesus and Buddha "You say you do not need to conform to one way of thinking, but I ask again: how can two contradictory belief systems BOTH be true?" I do not find Christianity and Buddhism to be mutually exclusive. Jesus and Buddha were very similar. Mysticism is an approach many religions share, including Christianity ... take it from a Christian Mystic. "I can respect anyone's opinions, but if I feel someone is misguided, don't I have a right - perhaps even obligation - to point out possible flaws in their reasoning?" There are many well-read and well-learned people on these boards. Many "New-Agers" and most "Mystics" are far more well-researched than most "Christians". As a group, we prefer if you can back up your statements. If someone's reasoning is flawed or they are misguided, back up your statements with references (other than the Bible), and we'll be glad to hear you out and discuss. "I guess these boards are only for new-agers and mystics - no Christians need apply?" Actually, this board is for those interested in spirituality, not necessarily religion. "snip .... All I'm doing is inviting people to explore the claims of Jesus. If that upsets you, I can't help it." The way it came across was that you were inviting people to explore the claims of Jesus as you see them. I'd venture a guess that the way you view Jesus is much different than I view Jesus. Posted as a reply to: Msg 62 by hdjs4 renee, just read your note about.... May I suggest we join forces? I get very tired of having shit thrown ot me because i dare to believe something that is not written in he bible, I feel i am explaining and explaining over and over only to be bombarded. You post was a great relief. Peace. Posted as a reply to: Msg 73 by renee_melder Thankyou... and if you have any constructive criticism of what I say or how I say it please feel free to let me know. I'm a 'work in progress'. ~Peace~ :) Posted as a reply to: Msg 72 by daisyforaday i'm gonna discuss this with you........ and we're gonna get all kinds of rhetoric in response. Be ready. Over the ages the christian churches seldom employed the true teaching of Jesus in their instruction to the people. I often wonder how I can can these "defenders of the faith" to take off the blinders and see the real history. I am wondering if some of the really "gung ho" (sorry, just couldn't think of a milder term) christians are perhaps getting a little frantic, or maybe their leaders are and they're passing it down. Perhaps the need they feel to challenge anyone who has "strayed" shows just how challenged they feel. Anyway, if you want to speak to another enlightened person, look up renee in the msg list. Want to talk more? Posted as a reply to: Msg 71 by avatarmundi Good post! I've been going around and around with satanists, atheists and born agains and it is starting to wear on my patience. Congratulations on your marriage and I hope it turns out as well as mine has. From a mystic To a mystic, Peace. Posted as a reply to: Msg 73 by renee_melder daisyforaday You can talk to me anytime. Noticed your concern about finding a milder term to express yourself...don't worry about it...express yourself, say what you feel. Posted as a reply to: Msg 76 by daisyforaday We already are "May I suggest we join forces?" I believe we already are joined "I get very tired of having shit thrown ot me because i dare to believe something that is not written in he bible, I feel i am explaining and explaining over and over only to be bombarded." I agree, and it can be quite frustrating. The thing that gets me is that so much of the Bible is misunderstood and flat out misconstrued. I do believe in the message of the Bible, but not that it is the literal inerrant Word of God. As far as Jesus, I do believe he was truly enlightened and Divine (as we all can be). I believe that He was trying to show us the way. Somehow, His message was lost on many, and His path has been paved in stone. BTW, I do believe he was not the only enlightened one trying to show us the way. There were others and will be more. You post was a great relief. Posted as a reply to: Msg 74 by daisyforaday Daisyforaday ... and today, another daisy brings me that same peace and has uplifted me as well. Thank you. Posted as a reply to: Msg 74 by daisyforaday Isn't that one of the toughest "I've been going around and around with satanists, atheists and born agains and it is starting to wear on my patience." I think I know what you mean. Coming up against someone of totally opposing views and gaining no ground can be extremely frustrating. For me, frustration has been one of the most difficult things to deal with on my path. I seem to be easily frustrated, and can tend to get quite uppity and holier-than-thou. It has been quite an inner struggle (rather a release of the struggle) to overcome these emotions. "Congratulations on your marriage and I hope it turns out as well as mine has." Thank you so much. So far, so good. It's only been 6 months, but I'm confident it's rock solid. "From a mystic To a mystic, Peace. " ditto =) Posted as a reply to: Msg 77 by avatarmundi The call to the chosen... Posted as a reply to: Msg 79 by renee_melder jesjka...the eagles are coming! They soar far above the mountains and valleys and their 'vision' ranges far beyond the earth-bound denizens. We are the Mystics bound by the common search for 'Truth' and uncontent to just walk upon the earth. We seek God and will suffer no limitation of dogma or doctrine.
