Inside the Circle

Many of us know...and it's still hard to do. Many of us think, yet cannot find the words to say. We still our minds and gain a center
only to allow the dork in the SUV to get us condemning our brother/sister again...and we know better. We watch with hearts so
heavy as the very people we love go farther from us...and as the world, its leaders and humanity set off in another direction...
Have no doubt, we are One.
Have no doubt, we are Love.
Have no doubt, we are exactly where we need to be....

However, if that just isn't going to cut it for you today...have a seat and spew, rant, question, console, life is real and sometimes just
freaky with negativity... ...let's re-gain our centers together, let's step inside the circle for a second...to catch our breath...

Yeah! My first topic...:)

Su...Marietta...Connie...this is the "real" board..okay?
Not that all the others aren't.

Yes, I have moved, and the new place is fabulous! Benjamin loves his new room, and the new kitty cat..."Little Brother" is recovering
nicely from his 'operation' yes...that one.

So, although it's still overwhelming getting all of my new-house-ducks to line up...quacky little twits...it's steady now...

Love to All....

Hey!!

Laura, so glad you are settled and pleased with the new surroundings. Little Ben and the cat sound happy. :) Keep us posted.

First topic huh?

I love the get a seat and spew...lolol. Now, wonder why I took that personal? *wink*

So tell me, do we get to vent in the circle, or come here to refuel? Kidding....kidding...:):) Your introduction, however, was right on,
and what most of my "spewing" has been about. I only started one thread, ever, the Humor Board and it is gone...felt bad about that.
We all had many, many laughs there. Not to mention creative writing practices. :)

Love ya, spryte.... Su

Ahhhh a little growl (grr) at the SUV dork always makes me laugh ;) When focus is all over the place a little unloading (tho preferably
not while driving lol) can go a long way to stilling the mind again. Keeping the emotional chaos that weighs us down inside is self
defeating sometimes. It'd be nice if we could remain calm and centered through even the most horrific of life's moments, but I think it's
unrealistic to believe we have to. Our emotional ups and downs are our humaness, our teachers.

PS I drive a 4X4 ;) but I drive it as though it were a little Chevette lol

It's all fine and dandy to unload...but ...my unloading...and yours too, is different...I could maybe struggle to explain that, although I'm
really hoping I don't have to...but as I listen patiently to friends discuss that bitch who is sleeping with so and so's husband while my
friend is doing a similar thing...see...my crap and unloading is about how I wasn't silent when I should have been listening, I wasn't
patient...I became judgmental...keeping healthy boundaries...and that verse in the ACIM that blew me away....lol.....you see?

I need to unload into safety...and love. ...and I'm hoping others will feel safe to do so here as well...with people who will nod and
amen you...but who can give you more than...
"You think too much" as solace...:)

Like this horrific last 2 weeks...I have people wanting to tell me how we can bomb the bejeezus out of Afghanistan...well...I work
with many middle eastern women/families whose hearts are ripped down the middle with sons missing in New York, daughters
getting spit on in the public schools here, and relatives sealed up in Afghanistan with no chance of getting out...my first instinct is to run
to pakistan and (wo)man the refugee camps...bring blankets, toys for the children...arms...of comfort...not destruction....

Seems Yahoo went on a purge.. :) Deleted some threads that were only idle for three weeks. Lost Zao's "posters the invisible us"
too. :( Sad to loose the history, but also sad, because many of the "old" posters are not around much anymore, if at all. Yet, they had
some wonderful things to add. Course, I am a sentimental ole fool, and often did go back and read old stuff. Maybe most don't.

Oh ya, "damned crap"...but, always remember the greatest lessons are often learned in the midst of a dung pile. :) As Chrissy
said..part of humaness. I kind of enjoy being real "human" at times. Kind of think that is what we are doing "here". Experience the
ride, but grow in the Energy. Positive and Negative. Different degrees of the same thing... LIFE. :)

Spryte.. I do understand. And like you, I don't really want to explain the details of that here. I think tho, my unloading has more to do
with being silent, sometimes having too much patience and not speaking up when I know I should. And so the crap pile builds,
burying my shovel in it's mess somewhere. I could easily jump in my 4X4 and pull myself out, but it seems a rather harsh way of
dealing with it.

I went to the ACIM thread to try and find the verse you mentioned, but since I've never kept up on that thread it's like looking for a
needle in a haystack :o) Could you point me to it?

*You think too much* .. sighs.. I hear that often enough myself. It's a way of people telling us they don't have any finite answers. But
we already know that. I'm not looking for someone to give me answers, but am trying to find them on my own.

While unloading in this safe and loving place, we can only expect what we are ourselves willing to give. I for one, am not ready to
openly discuss all of the things I need to unload in a public forum. And for that reason I realize that I will not recieve the direction I
need or hope to find. It's all about choices, isn't it.

I admire your position in the workplace and life, especially during this difficult time. My husband is a firefighter, our first instincts were
to run to New York. It's not possible for us to do that. And so we do what we can from home. Each member of the IAFF, here in
Canada and the United States wear black bands to cover their badges for thier fallen brothers and sisters. We are also envolved in
fundraising efforts to help in the only we can, offering our love and our prayers for peace. It's all we have to give..

Yes, I have saved some things, and printed a bunch too, but there was in excess of 800 posts on that board...oh, how we laughed
and got downright silly..we had everything from traveling zoos, candy factories, invasions of Florida by tanks, calendar shoots, jungle
warfare, football teams, car races, truck races, harley races, costume contests and pumpkin patches with flying ducks and stolen
tv's..but what was so special about it was, at the end of the day after all the wrangling, and discussion, heartaches, and pain, we all
would gather there and all the differences were forgotten..we just enjoyed each other...only now, that it is gone, do I realize how very
special that board was. See we didn't just quote jokes or copy and paste stuff..we all wrote the script. And, people that were at odds
over so many things elsewhere, were friends there. I am just realizing how amazing that was. A sad loss to these boards, and a sad
loss at what could be..kind of goes along with your self-importance post on another board.

Worst thing of all, it had only been about three weeks since it was used, then in the light of all that has happened in recent days, it
seemed not a time to be facetious...

To be honest I think in that light, the Yahell Lords were quite unfair to start deleting boards in a time period when everyone's mind
was on NYC. I usually don't complain about Yahoo. As for layout and fluidity, and the fact that it is a free service, it still remains one
of the best message board forums. This incident, however, was not a fair move.

And, we had a star...by the name of dave/beck! Geeze, I could cry. :(

the trouble with these boards are the topics i guess. i'd rather just see ONE new age board and keep everything contained.
sometimes, and sometimes not.

most of the time, a topic will start out as a topic and then digress, which is good.... but they eventually loose steam (quote of the day)
and die. then a new one pops up like this one, or the one i created this evening.

well, as i created it because i was blasted on the magick board over on new age for going off topic... like who cares anyway, chill out
i say... so i created a new one starting off by quoting casteneda on self-importance.. and i can't help but think, oh shit, another topic.
more dilution.

there are some stock traders i know that took over an unused stock message board. they are up to 4000 posts now.... and yahoo
does not delete stock message boards.

maybe we can take over one (lol)

(or is that just more dilution?)

well, whatever, it's late here and i'm still up. i'm thinking of doing a book someday blending my photography with some of the stuff
(well, all of the stuff) that i have been talking about ever since posting on these boards. i don't know if it will become a reality or not,
but as i keep generating thoughts, i keep putting stuff into categories on my hard drive. i woke up from a sleep thinking about totality
and god.... and NO.... i am not gonna create a new topic.... but i will keep on reading books and growing forward. i just finished
walsches book number 2 today and i feel like doing something... like posting here and watching what happens. life is a never ending
process of creation and experience, by conscious choice of course.

is beam_er's group the answer to this problem with yahello?

where's benthre been?

how's the hurricane cleanup (nevermind, i know, we cleaned up after the northridge quake)?

are we warming the planet or just going through a cycle?

got milk?

inside the circle of a homeless person
by: deep_green_smoke (42/M/CA)
09/27/01 05:00 am
Msg: 27 of 61

awhile back, i was driving over to pick up some transparencies that were processed at the color lab. they were color duplications of
some ink on glass paintings that i do. taking the offramp and waiting at a red light, i read a sign hung around a neck of a homeless
man. i see it all the time. the sign read:

HUNGRY
HOMELESS
NEED HELP
GOD BLESS

and i grabbed my wallet without seconds thought and saw that i had a $1 bill and a $5 bill. i gave him the five. his eyes lit up wider
than the day he took his first step on his own, so it seemed, as he thanked me in disbelief and sheer gratitude. he walked off that
street corner very briskly as he was done for the day

two days ago, a similar experience. an offramp coming home from work, i see a man holding a very similar sign. his left arm was
amputated. i looked in my wallet and this time, see a few $1's, a $5, and a $10. i knew i was gonna give him the five, but i stared at
the ten for a second or two, an internal debate, but decided that i needed it for something i was to get at the store later on. i gave him
the five and again, his eyes lit up and he turned his head around in circles giving me thanks. i told him to get a good meal. should i
have given the ten, heck, he was only expecting to receive the normal chump change - a quarter, a dime, mixed media of nickels,
simes, pennies. for him, a five does not come everyday from a single person but rather, from the collective few... perhaps the ones
who feel guilty they have more and he has none - i don't know.... who am i to say.... let's find out...

i thought tonight, i could receive a good lesson perhaps, by joining the circle of a homeless person for one full day. let me pick out a
street corner, dress up in my ragged ol' t-shirt i use to do home repairs with, not wash my hair or shave in the morning before heading
out, and hold up a sign.... and when i am done in the afternoon, i'll seek out a homeless person and give him everything i earned by
standing there on the corner begging for help.

i think there ius a powerful lesson there, one that i may try very soon.

(now, i need to get to bed!)

you stand correct
and tall
very tall
so very tall
with past come memories of pain and glory
with future come hopes of dreams and best wishes
innocent they are
they lead us quite astray at times
give yourself the present of the present
creation to expression
your life is here right now
unfolding
bending with the wind
glowing with the stars high above
standing tall
so very very tall

i am listening to an acoustic concert by REM
i always liked this song:

they call me the apologist.
and now that I'm at peak.
you know at first it really hurt.
we joke about these things.
I've skirted all my differences
but now I'm facing up.
I wanted to apologize for
everything I was. so
I'm sorry, so sorry...

did you understand me right?
the people here are good.
they tell me what I should have done
and offer what I could.
I'm good, all is good
all's well, no complaints.
when I feel regret,
I get down on my knees and pray.
I'm sorry, so sorry...

I live a simple life
unfettered by complex sweets.
you think this isn't me?
don't be weak.
there I go.
I'm so sorry.

thank you for being there for me.
thank you for listening, goodbye.
I can forfeit selfishness
I hope for you that you apply
this happiness
this peacefulness
I'm sorry, so sorry...

you think this isn't me?
that's so sweet.
I'm so sorry

I like the feel of "inside the circle"
implies a specialness we all could use
to combat the combat of war
Yet most don't feel a war
I don't really yet
not like I felt Nam
Haven't been on a plane yet
Only once so far couldn't walk freely
in a building where I used to go
no ID badge
Want to expand the circle of my life
and my work and my play
so becoming more particular
about my board writing
where I spend time, with whom
some friends here with whom
I want to stay, inside the circle

back to work lol

<<Yet most don't feel a war
I don't really yet
not like I felt Nam>>

Most don't feel a war yet because we have been doing what we are doing since the Gulf War in 1990, or whenever it was. :) I pray
we do not have to live another Nam. Don't think we will. We will just continue to shoot bombs off here and there to no avail. Just
returned from a plane trip. No difference, really. Few National Guard here and there, only ticketed passengers allowed beyond
check points, otherwise nothing has changed.

<<...becoming more particular
about my board writing
where I spend time, with whom
some friends here with whom
I want to stay, inside the circle>>

I can relate..:) Only problem with that is then you are thought of as an ostrich with head in the sand. :) Oh well, that is ok too. Better
to be an ostrich then a screaming eagle, I suppose. What will be will be, and the feathered ones are ignored anyway, bigger prey out
there now.

SU,hmm, thought by whom as an ostrich? In fact, it's just the opposite. The ostrich is taking its head out of the sand, more toward the
eagle side. The point was not well expressed then, because what I meant was that I'm choosing to stay connected to some circles,
even as I fly.

Only problem with that is when one person in a circle makes a shift, the circle shifts too, inevitably. It's how we adjust that matters.
Maybe another one of BSG's symptoms of inner peach (oops, I'll leave that typo!) could be an increased ability to adjust, go with the
flow.

why not just break the circle...
eliminate the notion of separateness
embrace the notion of unitedness
that we are all one

you can only change yourself
i can only change myself
if enough people begin to do this
swarms of people will do this

are we not evolving
(at a very slow rate)
yet are we not evolving
to see that everything really is interconnected

i think the sept 11'th tragedy was a HUGE wake up call
will humanity drop the ball or will humanity unite?

how large is that circle
if we let it widen to include all life and all species
then we have arrived
but until that day comes
we will carry on with the notion of "us against them" mentalities grounded in the vice of fear and separateness.

love and fear - opposites

did you also know that evil is live spelled backwards?

there is a big big difference between
evolution
and
conscious evolution.
