During my teens and early twenties I resembled a lot of the overly enthusiatic misguided christians you see on these boards. Like avatar, a number of my "christian" beliefs began to prick my conscience and with much difficulty I turned my back on all of it. I grew into a state of apathy and fell into a spiritual slumber so to speak. My experience was a big wake up call. Yes, there were immediate and profound changes in me. I lost much of my angry edge. I lost the prideful grand perception of myself that I held so dear. I now have a much calmer, patient, and quiet temperment. I am now trying to learn quietness, stillness, and awareness in an attempt to transcend my worldly bound mentality. This is proving very difficult for me. My mind and emotions never seem to slow down, net even for a second. I can feel my soul desiring to be free of the weight of my ego. Also, to be honest, there is still within me a hesintency to trust and submit the whole of my being to God even though it's my heart's desire. The reality of the experince is beginning to fade and becoming somewhat a memory of a memory. Even so, it has put me back on the spiritual path with a new zeal and a new hope. Be patient, marieta, your experience happened for a reason. I suspect that when the time is right your breakthroughs will occur and you will remember the "plan" and fulfill your role in the greater plan. Hmm... good advice for myself! God's Love, omnieye

B_eamer, please don't lesson your experience. It was monumental for you, as it should have been! Maybe I was given such a strong direction because I needed a stronger push, a different push... I don't have a religious background. Church was never a part of my life until I met my husband, and then the thought of attending a mass scared me to death! I have always been interested in the spiritual side of conciousness, it makes sense to me that it was through my conciousness that these moments came about. For me, they were easier to accept that way. You asked for a sign, and boy did you get one! Your wife a witness who surely happily attests to it when needed. I have no witness, I can only hope that when I do share that I won't be percieved as some kind of freak, or kook or whatever. That hasn't happened here, for that I'm very thankful. A number of posts back you wrote that you didn't think that OBE is possible through time, or different realms. (This is something I just remembered from my munched out post..) I don't know if you are familiar with Robert Monroe, he was the founder of the Monroe Institue in Arizona. In his book 'The Ultimate Journey' he writes about his OBE's. According to him, traveling to another realm, or back in time - even Forward in time - is possible. He writes that he made such journies while in the OBE state. Facinating read, it severely taxed my perceptions and beliefs. So much that on that Sunday I had and extremely harsh reaction to mass, I haven't been back since. Don't get me wrong, I haven't lost my faith in God or Jesus. I have serious doubts about just about everything else however.. Like you said Omnieye, patience. Marietta

Sorry to comment from first post, instead of from last....

I think we all have moments when the clouds part a bit, or even more fully...and then more fully still.

How far they part and how clear the sun shines through - seems to be mostly a deep mystery.

I think we ride waves, high and low in experiences, with some real moments of "soul" - where the divinity within us truly takes over and the rest surrendurs. Those seem very rare. What seems more common is when the light of the soul touches the mind a bit or when the light of the soul touches the heart, these being more indirect experiences than the former.

There are many spiritual books which discuss the high spiritual experiences of the saints.

I have read these, both with the sadness that I really am not in their league, but also with the hope that in some future life that is also our destination.

Two of these books - The Little Flowers of St. Francis....and Autobiography of a Yogi discuss wonderous experiences of spiritual grace called "trance" or samadhi where the full light of divinity shines.

Thank-you for your willingness to believe me. My purpose in sharing is to point out the possibilities that can manifest in anyones life. 'Crystalline, geometric beings of light' is the closest I could get with the language skills I have to describe these beings. They were/are very gentle, very polite and unobtrusive.

#2. When one begins to realize the Truth of ones Being as a Child of God/dess, fearlessness becomes the normal state of mind. Fear can only be experienced if one doubts the Power and Love of God/dess. With God/dess as our Source, what can possibly threaten us? Nothing.

#3. Crystals can be helpful if one is sensitive to them, however many people have gotten very weird notions about what crystals can do. At key moments in ones life crystals may help one to experience a shift in ones consciousness. The best source of transformation and inspiration is the Holy Spirit of God/dess. If you are led to explore crystals, remember, work with them as tools or as friends but not as substitute for your 'Higher Power'

~ Right you are. Journies are composed of small steps, it's good that you can pace yourself. So many in thier excitement and desire to help others tend to be agressive, thus having little or no effect with the message they so desparately want to share. I for one am looking forward to seeing a bit more of that burg, should it find a nice warm place in the sun... ;)

All is very well with me, it's been a very wonderful and busy week so far, and it's only Tuesday!

I have experienced some rough events in my life that have caused to do some heavy searching. I separated from my husband of 28 yrs recently. I was the homemaker and mother of 6 boys, I'm faced with going it alone. All I want to do is read spriritual material and self-help books. School and work have taken a back seat. Since I have been going through this I see so clearly my lack of love and acceptance of what IS. I feel like I'm in a crash course to find myself and what I believe in and stand for.

In spiritual Journeys, in my book, is sometimes a very good thing to have happen. Many, as I once did, have waited paintently for even a small minute crumb of spiritual growth. Waited paintently for the next door to open. Kept wondering what the heck was the secret that I was unaware of. I just hope you have the time to fully digest the information you are gaining and be able to make wise decisions further along in your journey. Keep your eyes open.

First, may I say thank you for your profound contributions to these boards, you are a continued source of enlightement. I was so touched by your post regarding sharing your thoughts in your own words and not just quoting wisdom of others (or words to that affect, I don't have the post in front of me). You have the gift of articulation, I lack that so I had to think of how to express what "Cosmic Net" means to me without quoting Holmes or Burke.
Have you ever truly studied the intricasies of a spider webb? To me, that is a physical manifestation of the cosmic net. Infinite threads of energy shooting in every direction with perfect geometric form from a center source. Each minute space is a soul, individual in itself, but connected to each other by the threads of energy. The thoughts, prayers, needs of each individual space can be immediatly sent over this network to all spaces via the energy threads...all staying within the geometric whole....when touched by the rays of the sun, the colors are vibrant, sort of like your crystals....

Spider web? Yes, I see your point. I have often contemplated the vision of a crystal sphere with no circumference and no center. Every point is directly connected to every other point with no boundaries to define any one point's special domain. All are equal, with infinite potential for combination and direction. Infinite imaginary lines can be drawn within this sphere, from an infinite number of starting points. The creative potential is unlimited. The spiders web example reminded me of this. Thank-you.

Nothing in life is hard unless the human mind perceives it so. It is all part of the life cycle of our existense, that which is, to gain experience.

But i would never tell anyone what to do, or force my ideas upon them. And so continues the process of evolution in ourselves and in our soul. You will gain much from this, im sure.

There is always love there. Search for it, invoke it, feel it, love it, and you will perceive it easier.

But I shall try. Your spider web brought to me the answer of why there are so many different definite answers to many questions posed on this board. We each in our journey start at the center of the web. We are created. Our soul and spirt begin their seperate, yet entwined journeys. The journey starts radiating outward, gaining knowledge and enlightenment. As we come to an intersection from a circular, yet perpendicular, path, we must come up with the tool or answer to cross that intersection. What happens then, I think, is up to our higher power and what ever the "great plan" may be for our particular existence.
We may travel in a straight line or we may travel sideways to extend outward in a totally different, yet united journey.
We all emcompass the entire web, that is forever reaching outward, amassing more and more enlightment and knowledge. Our paths are all different, yet tied together in a common bond.
I also think that from time to time, some of us come across beings or special doorways (or insects) that have been attracted to the webs beauty and have been set for us to encounter.
Or they may have been put there for a very special purpose.
I think that this particular board has for the most part covered or tried to explain some of the special doorways or beings that we have been fortunate ( or perhaps unfortunate) to have encountered in our special and particular journey.
I think it so sad for those that are content to just occupy the center, having the journey and path before them. They are just content to stay where they are, not aware of the great knowledge and enlightenment that they are missing out on.
